(4.36) The Anamnesis
Amnesia is to forget and anamnesis means to not forget or to re-remember.
It “celebrates the memorial of Christ, recalling especially his blessed Passion, glorious Resurrection and Ascension into heaven” (GIRM) and it is reflected on the prayer that the Priest says:
Therefore, O Lord, as we celebrate the memorial
of the saving Passion of your Son,
his wondrous Resurrection
and Ascension into heaven,
and as we look forward to his second coming,
