(2.1) Entrance and Veneration of the Altar

Entrance

The Entrance starts in a procession with the gathered faithful standing and singing. The procession is usually led by the Cross, followed by the ministers, lectors and altar servers accompanied by candles and usually burning incense as well. The Deacon and then the Priest will be at the end of the procession.

In similar manner that Christ goes through our life, the procession goes through the faithful and to the aisle leading to the Altar.

Reverence to the Altar

The lectors, altar servers, ministers, Deacon and the Priest bows when they reach the Sanctuary as a show of reverence. The Deacon and the Priest then kiss the altar as a show of further reverence.
